Wedding Photoshow

So, I finally broke down and paid for a subscription to an online photoshow.  Joey’s Nana asked that I send some pics of our wedding to PawPaw’s niece, so I thought I’d stick it on our blog.  It’s hard to believe this was almost 2 years ago…time flies!  Hope you all enjoy!

We’re still alive…

Gosh, I’m SO bad at keeping up with our blog.  Not to mention Joey doesn’t like to contribute to it…at all.  Hopefully he will feel inspired one of these days.

I know it has been so long.  Where do I begin?  We are still alive!  Halloween has come and gone…and know it’s almost Thanksgiving!  It’s crazy how time flies when you’re having fun…NOT!  I wish I’ve been having fun.  Work has pretty much taken over my life which is half the reason I haven’t written in a while.  The other half…I guess that would just be me being lazy.  It’s sad that time “off” work consists of “working” at home.  Laundry, cooking, cleaning…they’re overrated.  I actually really enjoy cooking, but when you come home from a 10-hour day (not including the 45 minute drive…ONE WAY), not so much.  I’m sorry that I’m complaining in the one blog I write for the month.  I should be more optimistic.  Well, you know me, and how I am with pictures (I get it from Debs, of course).  I’ve got Halloween pics to share, and some other randoms.  Hope you can at least enjoy those.  Let’s pray that the next time I’m on here will be in the near future with higher spirits:)  Love you all!

Looking back on the past…

This is so random…but when am I not random, right?  Do you ever hear a song, and think of something from the past?  Well, pretty much every song that I’ve ever heard means something different to me.  I was listening to the radio on my way to work this morning, and a song from the past started playing…”The Boy Is Mine” by Brandy & Monica.  Do you remember that song?  It makes me think of when I went to tennis camp back in the day with one of my best friends, Kelly (or Kelikilikilou, if you prefer).  Of course we roomed together, which was a HUGE deal to us.  It was around the time my mom had just finished radiation treatment.  There are about 2 years of my life that I don’t remember because of everything that was going on during that time.  I mean, my mom is my absolute best friend, and you can imagine how that took a toll on me (14 years old, the youngest of 4, basically an only child).  Anyways, not to be a “Debbie-Downer”, this song brought back one of the greatest memories that I had forgotten.  Although it was a horrible time in my and my family’s life, it’s songs like these that make you remember the good times during those that were not so good.  So…thanks Brandy and Monica.

Topic or no topic…that is the question

I always feel like I need a topic to start writing on.  But sometimes my mind is just blank.  Well, not blank, but at the moment I would say………content.  I love when the weather changes like this…not too hot, not too cool, breezy air.  I think I feel my best this time of year, like there’s nothing to worry about (even if I do have stresses at work, etc.).  It just means it’s closer to Thanksgiving, which is definitely my favorite holiday because I get to see all of my awesome family together.  I love Christmas, don’t get me wrong, but Thanksgiving is just as good, minus spending my life savings on gifts, and realizing we’re broke on December 26, haha!  J/K, I LOVE giving gifts…anyway, back to the current month.  I got my halloween costume together today (not to be disclosed until Halloween, and pictures to follow, of course).  I’m the type to get into all the scary movies they start playing on the 1st of October.  I’m still young at heart (even if I did celebrate a quarter of a century birthday this past May).  I know, I know, I’m not OLD, but you know what I mean.  Well, I’m off to digest my yummy chinese food (that I ate with chopsticks, because it tastes better that way), and watch Monday Night Football with my hubby…and little boy (Jackson).  This is the cutest picture ever, I just had to share.  Have a wonderful week!

"Jack-Jack", "Stinky", "Tinky", "Jacky-boy", "Jackity-Smackity"....you get the idea

UGA blackout…not a great success

ROLL TIDE!!!  This weekend was a blast!  First going to my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary party…SHOUT OUT TO THEM…I LOVE YOU GUYS!  Then off to Athens on Saturday to see the Tide wipe out the black out.  On any other day I would be cheering on the Dawgs…but not when thery’re playing BAMA!  We had so much fun with our face value tickets (while everyone else had paid mucho $$$$ for theirs).  We also got to see our best friends, minus a few.  Tailgating was a mad house, but so much fun!  The best poster I saw all day was the one that read, “If you don’t Knowshon, then you don’t knowsh%$”…well kids, I’m sorry to say after that win, “Knowshon is the one that don’t knowsh&$”.  haha!  Sorry…I had to say it. :)

We’re now ranked #2…look out Kentucky!

Welcome to our blog!

Wow…I can’t believe I’m actually starting a blog.  I’m always the one looking at other peoples lives and never writing about mine!  So here I go…  Joey and I have moved back to Crimson land, good ol’ Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  We are renting a house that has an awesome back yard, so Jackson finally has a place to run around (big change from living in the Buckhead loft!)  Joey is getting his masters in Biological Sciences and working part time as a dental assistant for Dr. Rushton Smith.  Needless to say…he is LOVING it.  He has truly found his calling.  He can’t wait to begin dental school…and who knows, it may take us as far as Boston!  His first choice is UAB in Birmingham, but we’ll just have to see!  As far as my career goes…I’m now filling the role as the Rehab. Director and Speech-Language Pathologist at Salem Nursing and Rehab. in Reform, Alabama.  The 45 minute drive every day isn’t the best, but I feel like this position has really made me grow up this past month.  I feel like I actually have a purpose now.  I only have 7 patients on my caseload at the moment…but it just keeps rising.

Well…I guess that sums up our life for now, and hopefully I’ll be good at updating this thing.  We’ll just have to see!  I hope everybody has a wonderful week!
